Misuzu Hamono Mfg.

The Originator of Stainless Warikomi Knives

Misuzu Hamono is a knife manufacturer that inherits the traditional manufacturing methods of Miki City, which is known for its blacksmithing. They offer a wide range of products to meet the needs of every customer, from professional craftsmen seeking the highest quality with extremely high hardness to general households looking for versatile and easy-to-use knives. They focus on "sharpness" and "ease of use," meticulously and precisely crafting each knife by hand.
Misuzu Hamono's Warikomi knives were conceived by the founder, Shinji Suzuki, in 1946. At a time when using stainless steel for knives was a revolutionary idea, founder Shinji Suzuki pioneered the manufacturing of the first stainless Warikomi knives in Japan. By sandwiching high-carbon steel between layers of stainless steel, he succeeded in creating a knife that was both highly sharp and at the same time, resistant to rust. And so, the stainless-steel version of the Warikomi knife was born.
