About Hayashi Mfg.
Established in 1892, the company was founded by Kotaro Hayashi I, who processed tinplate and other materials in Hata-Cho, Ono City. In the early Showa period, Keiji Hayashi II began manufacturing Higonokami folding knives and kitchen knives. During the war, the company manufactured military supplies as required by the times. After the postwar restrictions on the manufacture of knives and other items, the company began to produce Rashakiri sewing shears and pinking shears.
In 1947, they established a joint-stock company (Ltd.). In 1975, a second factory was established, and full-scale production of kitchen knives began. It is rare for a company to handle both shears (double blades) and kitchen knives (single blade), which serves as proof of their wide range of expertise.
