The pinnacle of tradition. Shuzon-Shozo's series.

High-end. Damascus Kiridashi Kogatana 18mm.

This is Ikeuchi Hamono's finest cutting knife, crafted by forging and welding blue steel No. 2 and laminated mild steel. The reddish blue steel is hammered and forged to create a tough material. The damascus (10 layers) have a beautiful pattern that is different for each knife. It is extremely durable and has excellent back-scraping and back-cutting properties, resulting in a sharp cutting edge. The handle fits snugly in the palm of your hand, making it easy to apply subtle pressure.
The cutting type can be used for all kinds of crafts, including woodworking, bamboo, plastic, etc. If your hands hurt after working for a long time, it is a good idea to wrap them with tape or string.
Single-edged knife for right-handed use. Left-handed version also available upon special order.

The Shuzon-Shozosaku series is a high-end series made with the pinnacle of Ikeuchi Hamono's traditional techniques. Everything is done by hand, with dozens of processes to create a sharp blade, allowing for stress-free work. As it uses blue steel, it can also be used to work with hard materials (dried bamboo). In addition to woodworking, it is also used for filleting fish (eel).
A thin layer of varnish is applied to prevent rust, so the blade may feel dull at first. This will come off with use, but if you want to enjoy the sharpness of Ikeuchi knives from the start, please wipe it off with thinner or similar before use.

*Can be resharpened and repaired.
