Yoshioka Edged-Tool Works
The Hasami Masamune - Gardening Shears.
About Yoshioka Edged-Tool Works.
The company was founded in 1946 amidst the chaos of the postwar period, initially as a maker of 8-inch Japanese tailoring shears. Two years later, Kihachi Yoshioka, the company's founder, expanded the product line to include various types of tailor's shears. In 1973, he began producing planting shears and root-cutting shears.
Yoshioka’s products are specifically tailored for professionals, emphasizing the importance of a sharp cutting edge and balanced feel when held. A key feature of their approach is their collaboration with customers, developing tools based on user feedback and experiences. Takashi, the third-generation head of the family, has developed a new brand called “KUROCO.” By blending traditional Japanese blacksmithing techniques honed over many years with his own unique artistic vision, he is breaking new ground.
Going forward, they intend to continue embracing their origins as Japanese blacksmiths, producing products in line with their company motto: “Good products speak for themselves.”
