Forged for durability.
A superior hand hoe.
Hand-forged dual-purpose. Hand Ika hoe.
Lightweight and easy to use. This Japanese hand hoe is made by hand forging.
The steel is compressed through forging and combined with a unique quenching process, making it strong and resistant to breaking. The blade tip is sharpened to dig into the soil easily. The total length of 400mm is just right for swinging with one hand. Its exquisite weight allows for long hours of work without fatigue. The one-handed hoe is recommended for digging up soil in fields and flower beds, transplanting, and weeding while crouching or squatting. It's convenient for working in narrow spaces.
The ika hoe is a combination of a flat hoe and a claw hoe, resembling the shape of a squid. With one tool, you can "dig and cultivate (flat side)" and "break up soil and pull weeds (claw side)". While convenient, it is slightly heavier. ※In Japanese, squid is called “ika.”
amenoma Check!
Only a few blacksmiths in Japan can create agricultural tools with such care and effort. There's a significant difference in blade strength between forged and non-forged blades. You can work with peace of mind without worrying about the blade bending. The blade angle is set to easily penetrate the soil when in a crouching position, making digging effortless. It can be used for a long time, but if left outdoors, the blade will deteriorate due to rust and corrosion. After use, store it in a well-ventilated place where it won't be exposed to rain. If the blade becomes wobbly after years of use, simply hammer in the "wedge" to secure it.
