About Takemoto Sickle

Banshu sickles, named after the local region, originated at the start of the 20th century, when Isuke Fujiwara, a former swordsmith, applied razor manufacturing techniques to sickles. Around that time, Kikumatsu I (the current representative's grandfather) and his siblings founded a sickle-forging business. Banshu sickles, also known as "razor sickles," were highly praised for their sharpness. Although in today’s age mass production has largely become mechanized, each blade is still carefully hand-finished to ensure excellent sharpness, longevity, and ease of use.
Currently, from the standard 'Kikumatsu Series' to the premium sickle brand Sakle, Takemoto Kama Manufacturing offers a product lineup that meets a wide range of needs. They also continue to innovate with the TAKEMOTO BROS. brand, which combines functionality, durability, and design, as they explore the future of sickle manufacturing.
