Onoyoshi traces its roots back to 1936, when its founder started out as a kitchen knife smith. When the second generation of blacksmiths took over in 1964, they began making pruning shears. Now, the younger third generation continues the tradition while also pursuing new designs and enhanced usability.
Although the scissors may appear similar at first glance, each pair is handcrafted and unique from the next.
This uniqueness is a testament to the craftsmanship involved, with each pair undergoing over 100 hand-performed steps in its creation. Currently, these shears are beloved globally and used by a wide range of enthusiasts, from professional gardeners to rose enthusiasts.
