These are one of the few left-handed pruning shears. The blades are made up of a clam-shaped upper blade and a crescent-shaped lower blade, which lock onto the branch they grip and cut. The overall balance is evenly balanced on both the left and right sides, resulting in a beautiful and durable blade shape.
The knife is fully forged and finished with a honyaki finish, making it strong and durable, and each blade is hand-sharpened for exceptional sharpness. It can be sharpened and repaired for maintenance purposes. Includes one replacement spring. The spring and screw set are sold separately.

Uses: Can be used for various pruning tasks such as trimming plants, flowers, bonsai, gardening, orchards, and fresh flowers. Cuts up to about 15mm (maximum 20mm). *Maximum cutting depth varies depending on grip strength.

These shears are designed for left-handed people. When left-handed people use right-handed pruning shears (all regular pruning shears are right-handed) for extended periods, gaps inevitably form between the blades. This problem can be solved, so we recommend these shears. Unfortunately, there aren't many left-handed shears available. They're more difficult to produce than right-handed shears, and are more expensive. They have a durable blade shape (clamshell blade) that can withstand cuts of about 20 mm. The beautiful mirror-finished blades, with the refined attention to detail you'd expect from a craftsman, will touch the hearts of anyone who uses them.

Note: The blade has a small back edge to prevent chipping when used on raw wood, making it difficult to cut ropes (strings used to tie to posts, etc.).
